In today’s episode, Dr.
Siohvaughn Funches finishes the series, “Putting it in the Hands of
Jesus.” Dr. Funches introduces this message by stating that whether
we have a mess of our own or we are involved in someone else’s
mess, as we put it in the almighty hands of Jesus, He will turn
your mess into whatever miracle you need, beyond even your
prayers.
Dr.
Funches recaps the message from last week, that Jesus washes us
clean. His word is a lamp to our feet. It directs our paths. One
thing is needful — getting at the feet of Jesus and hearing His
word. Jesus is God’s Word. When we know the Word, we know the Son
of God, who is God. Jesus is the Light of the world. Jesus is the
Bread of Life. He is everything that we can possibly need. Jesus is
the Resurrection and the Life.
In
this week’s message, Dr. Funches teaches that no one can serve two
masters. Mammon is of the devil. Jesus knows our needs before we
do. God supplies all of our needs. We must grasp the truth that we
cannot serve God and mammon. Dr. Funches takes us to a study of
Luke 5 where Jesus blessed Simon, James, and John with a catch of
fish that started to sink their boats and they followed Him. God
provides and His provision changes as He wills it. Dr. Funches
speaks about tithing. When you give God 10% of your income, it is a
way of putting it in His Hands. God will open the windows of heaven
and pour at that there will not be room enough to receive it. You
will have to give some of it away! When you give God 10%, 100%
becomes holy. You can’t lose, with God. Whatever is put in His
hands grows and multiplies.
Listen in to hear how God favors the New Covenant believer who puts their needs into the hands of Jesus.
KEY BIBLE VERSES
[18:46] Matthew 6:24, NKJV 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon.”
[24:33] Luke 5:1–11, NKJV 1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” 11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.
[35:37] Malachi 3:10, NKJV 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.”
[38:43] Romans 11:16, NKJV 16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
