The One Thing That's Needful

Feb 13, 2020

In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues the series, “When You Don’t Understand His Hand, Trust His Heart.” Dr. Funches picks up where she left off in last week’s message. Dr. Funches first welcomes new listeners and encourages you to go back to the beginning of this series, to benefit from all the messages about trusting in God’s heart.

It is vital for the believer to trust the heart of God, to persevere through a trial when you don’t understand His hand, or what it is that God is doing. You may not understand His timing or why He’s refraining from doing something. Dr. Funches returns to the story of Martha, Mary, and Lazarus in John 11 as an example of how God takes everything and works it together for our good. Dr. Funches contrasts the work God does inside us with the miracles He performs for us. Dr. Funches witnesses how she was blessed by being fully restored miraculously from a broken state. Dr. Funches emphasizes Jesus revealing Himself as the resurrection and the life. Dr. Funches likens the father of the prodigal son to our Father in Heaven who does love us unconditionally.

Dr. Funches returns to John 11 about Martha, Mary, and Lazarus and continues through John 11:34, sharing her witness of God’s love for you.

Listen in to hear how you can trust in God’s heart as a New Covenant believer of Jesus.
