Dr.
Funches recaps the message from the first episode of this series
that everyone faces storms in life. We live in a world that is
fallen, where the devil has influence with people. The spiritual
storms that arise in us are like natural storms. Visibility is not
good in a storm. God wants us to use our eyes of faith to see God
in His word. We don’t see a way out of our troubles but God surely
has a way. Jesus has overcome the world with His blood. Look with
eyes of faith. Ask God to open your eyes of faith so you can see
Jesus every day in your walk with Him. God is good to you every
day. Dr. Funches talks about the favor of God to you through Jesus
as you walk by faith.
In last week’s message, Dr.
Funches started delving into the Book of Esther. This week, Dr.
Funches continues in the Book of Esther. We see that Esther and
Mordecai had a journey to get to their promised blessings. Dr.
Funches invites you to slow down and meditate as you read the
scriptures. Think about how long Abraham and Sarah waited on God.
Slow down, soak in the truth, and let the Holy Spirit minister to
you. It is better to read a little with the Holy Spirit than to
read a lot without seeking the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Funches recaps the first chapters of the Book of Esther, looking at how Esther was orphaned and Mordecai took her in as his daughter. Dr. Funches summarizes the events in the Book of Esther concerning how Esther, as a virgin, was brought before King Ahasuerus as a potential bride for him. Even in their hardships, Esther and Mordecai trusted in God and God favored them along the way. Dr. Funches picks up in the Book of Esther where last week’s message ended.
